GOVERNOR DECLARES EMERGENCY FOR JANUARY STORMS

Gov. Chris Gregoire has proclaimed a state of emergency in 17 counties, including the Twin Harbors due to damage from a series of severe winter storms between Jan. 9-26, 2011. The proclamation will allow the use of state resources to meet the emergency needs of local jurisdictions. Gregoire has also asked President Obama to declare a federal disaster area in seven Washington counties due to damage from a severe winter storm that occurred between Dec. 8 and 18, 2010.
