Woman found on Wishkah River bank near Think of Me Hill
Aberdeen Police Officers found a 40 year old Hoquiam woman on the Wishkah River bank near Think of Me Hill this week. Monday evening, dispatch received a call saying that a woman was on the river bank near the hill and in distress. When asked if she needed help she told dispatch that “I need to get the hell out of here.”
The woman reportedly sounded intoxicated and it wasn’t sure how she got to her current location. Responding officers could hear the woman in the brush but could not see her. A boat from the Grays Harbor Sheriff’s office and the Aberdeen Fire Department were called in to assist.
Officers yelled out to the woman to come back down to the edge of the river. She was picked up from the river bank by the Sheriff’s Office boat and transported across the river were she was checked by paramedics from AFD. She was treated for minor cuts and scrapes. The woman said that she was with some friends picnicking on the hill when her friends left her behind and she lost her way resulting in her becoming lost and eventually ending up on the bank of the river.
