Chef Niels Tiedt dead at the age of 74

KXRO has learned that Chef Niels Tiedt(Teet), owner and head chef of Mallard’s Bistro in Aberdeen, passed away at the age of 74.

Originally from Denmark, a family member of Tiedt’s says he was a Nationally Recognized chef in Minneapolis and California when first arriving to America in the early 1960′s. Later in his career he managed larger restaurant corporations, country clubs and hotels around the U.S. before settling in Aberdeen and opening Mallard’s in 1996.
