Unpaid taxes cause Moore’s Furniture to close
Moore’s Interiors has temporarily closed due to unpaid taxes. A letter posted on the locked doors of the store says that the Department of Revenue issued 2 tax warrants against the company in February. These warrants were for unpaid taxes, increases, and/or penalties totaling over $17,500. The warrants were filed with Grays Harbor Superior Court and remained unpaid more than 30 days after filing and the department revoked the certificate of registration for the business.
Owner Jim Moore says that while they are not currently allowed to make new sales, customers who have already purchased items can still pick them up at the location. Moore says he is working with the Department of Revenue and has every intention to re-open the store as early as next week.
The company is required to post the letter at their main entrance until the tax debt is repaid.
