Yielding for emergency vehicles leads to an accident
July 3, 2012
The Washington State Patrol says an attempt at yield to emergency vehicles led to an accident on Monday. A log truck went off the road 3 miles east of Oakville and ended up on its top just after 4pm. A 49 year old Harrisonville, MO driver was travelling on Highway 12 when he encountered emergency vehicles. When the driver pulled onto the shoulder to allow a safe route for the vehicles, the soft shoulder caused the 2003 Peterbilt and trailer loaded with lumber to roll onto its side. The truck rolled down the embankement ending up landing on its top.
The driver was not injured in the accident. The semi and flat bed were towed from the scene.
