Police pursuit in Raymond ends in arrest

July 10, 2012

A routine traffic stop led multiple agencies on a chase in Raymond. Raymond Police Officer Eric Fuller attempted to stop a vehicle on SR 101 when the man performed a 360 in the road. The suspect drove through multiple stop signs and police say he nearly hit pedestrians and a vehicle in the high speed chase. As the man continued to elude police he drove through an arbor and a park before abandoning his vehicle in an alley and continuing on foot.

Witnesses told police that the man had entered a business and hid inside their bathroom where officers arrested the 41 year old Longview man and booked him into the Pacific County Jail.

When searching the vehicle, officers found a “substantial amount of suspected tar heroin, methamphetamine and other materials that would be consistent with narcotics dealing and delivery.”

The man was booked on a Department of Corrections warrant, as well as Eluding a Police Vehicle, Driving While License Suspended, and felony drug charges.

Further charges may be pending.
