Hoquiam Police investigate homicide involving 16 year old suspect
Hoquiam Police are investigating the possible Homicide this morning. An officer on patrol found a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt near 28th St and Bay Avenue on Saturday morning that had struck an embankment. The officer says that there was no-one inside the car, and a bloody knife was found near the driver’s door. A shoe and a bloody knife sheath were found approximately 30 yards away.
Hoquiam Police said that the mother of the 16 year old suspect told officers that she had received a call from her son saying he was “going to do something terrible”. A woman identifying herself as the mother of the suspect says that neither the call to her nor to the police occurred. When officers found the 16 year old Hoquiam boy, he admitted to stabbing the driver of the car at a nearby apartment. The driver drove off following the assault.
Officers found a body, believed to be a 20 year old Aberdeen man, in a yard near the accident. Hoquiam Fire Department paramedics attempted to revive the man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
