Aberdeen School Board Member Jeff Snell dies
Aberdeen School Board Member and former AHS administrator Jeff Snell died on Monday morning. Snell was found by an employee of the YMCA of Grays Harbor in the locker rooms at the facility. The Hoquiam Fire Department says that the cause of death looks natural and no foul play is suspected. Snell also served on the YMCA of Grays Harbor Board of Directors.
“I am grateful for the time I was able to spend with Jeff and learned much from his dedication to our schools and community,” Superintendent Dr. Tom Opstad said, “He was a very active and visible board member and I will miss him.”
A 1964 graduate of Weatherwax High School, Snell had served on the Aberdeen School Board since 2007.
An Aberdeen School Board Meeting is scheduled for tonight at AHS.
