Resolution passed in honor of Jeff Snell

Aberdeen School Board Member and former AHS administrator Jeff Snell died on Monday. Snell was found by an employee of the YMCA of Grays Harbor in the locker rooms at the facility. Snell also served on the YMCA of Grays Harbor Board of Directors.

The Aberdeen School Board met last night and passed a resolution in honor of Snell.

To open the meeting Board President Doug Smith called for a moment of silence for board member Jeff Snell who passed away on Monday, saying it seemed fitting as there were no words that felt right to say. Later in the meeting Superintendent Dr. Thomas Opstad read a resolution that expressed their condolences to the family and honored the life and career of Snell saying that he “He lived life to the fullest..

Opstad also commented later expressing the passion that Snell brought to advocating for education.

Snell, a 1964 graduate of Weatherwax High School, had served on the Aberdeen School Board since 2007. He was 65 years old.
