Accident knocks out power in Grayland and sends woman to hospital

July 19, 2012

An accident in Tokeland knocked out power to over 700 customers in Grayland on Wednesday afternoon. Liz Anderson with the Grays Harbor PUD says that workers had to replace the pole, and that power was out for over 6 hours.

The Washington State Patrol says that a 90 year old Tokeland woman was driving on Highway 105 when she drove into the ditch and hit the pole. Her arm was broken in the crash and she was transported to the hospital. She was wearing a seatbelt during the accident.

State Patrol says the cause was fatigue on the 90 year old woman. She was charged with wheels off roadway. Her 2006 Volkswagon Bug was towed from the scene.
