Cosmopolis extends composting program to 3rd day
July 19, 2012
Due to the positive response with residents, the City of Cosmopolis has extended their composting program. The program, which has been running on Saturday and Sunday, will now be extended to Wednesdays from 11-3.
Public Works Director Darrin Raines says that even though they will open it during normal business hours, they will still need to stop at 3pm for workers to dispose of debris.
The program, offered to Cosmopolis residents, had to be shut down due to budget cuts after the mill closure. With the reopening of Cosmo Specialty Fibers, the added revenue allowed the city to restart composting yard waste at the city garage.
