Time-lapse video of pontoons being launched in Tacoma

The Washington State Department of Transportation has uploaded a time-lapse video of the SR 520 pontoon float-out Monday in Tacoma. Two pontoons left the basin about 7:30 p.m. last night.

This video includes the basin gate removal on July 22, and installation of a T-pontoon Monday morning, followed by the pontoons towing out Monday evening.

The remaining four pontoons will float out in pairs with the high tide Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

4 pontoons being repaired locally are scheduled to float into Grays Harbor and be towed to Lake Washington this summer.
