Contractor airlifted to Harborview after accident causing power outage
July 28, 2012
Power has been restored for about 40 customers in the area of 1st Street in Aberdeen. An outage occurred just before 11am this morning.
The PUD repaired a downed power line in the area. A contractor was reportedly working in the area with a lift.
The PUD’s preliminary investigation indicates either the contractor or the equipment he was holding came into contact with the power line. The extent of possible injuries is not known at this time.
According to the Aberdeen Fire Department, the contractor was transported to Grays Harbor Community Hospital and then airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
