Aberdeen Police investigating assault with a firearm

A 33 year old Aberdeen woman was taken into custody for Assualt in the 1st Degree after pointing a gun at her father.

Aberdeen Police Officers were called to the 1800 block of Bel Aire regarding an assault.

Officers learned that the 33 year old suspect was having in a verbal fight with her father, a 58 year old Aberdeen man, while inside the home. At some point during the argument the female pointed a handgun at her father, threatening to shoot him.

The woman was taken into custody without incident on charges of assault in the first degree. She is currently in custody at the Aberdeen Police Department.

The firearm used in this incident has been located. The victim was not injured.
