The Devil Went Down to Georgia, and the power went down in East County
Concert fans got a surprise last night right after the Charlie Daniels Band concert at the Grays Harbor County Fair.
The Grays Harbor PUD says that just before 10pm last night, a car hit a power pole and knocked out power to 1200 customers between the fairgrounds and McCleary.
KXRO learned that the outage occurred right after Daniels sang “Devil Went Down to Georgia” at the opening night concert for the fair.
PUD crews were able to restore power to all but about 30 customers within an hour.
Mike Bruner, Manager at the fairgrounds, said that Wednesday saw a good start to the Fair. Attendance for the day came in at just over 10,000. Last year’s mark for opening day was 8,400.
