Collision on Highway 12 sends Seattle woman to hospital

A head on collision outside of Oakville sent a 26 year old Seattle woman to the hospital on Thursday.

Washington State Patrol says that just after 5pm yesterday, the 26 year old was travelling on Highway 12 in a 1981 Toyota pickup when the vehicle in front of her slowed to avoid debris in the road.

To avoid hitting the other vehicle, she veered into the oncoming lane. A 29 year old Centralia woman was traveling west on 12 in a 2001 Ford F150 when the Seattle woman struck her head on.

Both trucks were towed after the accident and the 26 year old was taken to Centralia Providence as a precaution, as well as cited for following too close. Both women were wearing their seatbelts.
