Fair attendance higher than expected for the year

August 13, 2012

The Grays Harbor County Fair reports that the sunshine on the Harbor brought attendance well over the goal of 60 thousand this year. 63 thousand residents went through the gates during the 5 days of the fair, with only Thursday showing attendance lower than last year.

Over 20 thousand people came through on Saturday, showing the highest attendance by almost double the other days.

Fairgrounds Manager Mike Bruner said that it seems that additional TV marketing outside of Grays Harbor may have paid off, as surveys that were handed out to attendees showed many had driven in excess of 60 miles to attend the fair.
