Pacific County Firefighters head across the state to battle wildfire
Two Pacific County Fire District #1 Members were mobilized this week to help fight the Highway 141 fire just north of White Salmon.
Since yesterday, this fire has burned approximately 1200 acres. Local agencies have sent 40 evacuation notices as the winds have caused the fire to spread and threaten homes. A fire spokesman says firefighters are making progress
Fire spokesman Stan Hinatsu says the Highway 141 Fire is 10 percent contained and didn’t grow significantly Thursday. No structures have been lost and no one has been injured.
Over 450 firefighters from across the state are on scene to battle the blaze that started this week.
Local fire districts remind residents that a burn ban is in effect for both Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties. Recreational campfires are allowed if built in fire pits in designated campgrounds.
There has been a burn ban in effect on Department of Natural Resources lands since July 1, scheduled through September 30.
