Wildfire Outside of Oakville Extinguished

Grays Harbor Fire District 1 and 5 responded to a wildfire off of South Bank Rd. Outside of Oakville yesterday afternoon along with a West Thurston Fire crew and Lewis County crew.
The five acre fire was extinguished yesterday but it did destroy a small shed storing hay.There was a barn and a house threatened by the fire but they were unharmed.
Local fire districts remind residents that a burn ban is in effect for both Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties. Recreational campfires are allowed if built in fire pits in designated campgrounds. There has been a burn ban in effect on Department of Natural Resources lands since July 1, scheduled through September 30.
