Raymond Police report more vehicle prowls

October 2, 2012

The Raymond Police Department responded to several reports of vehicle prowls this morning. In most cases the vehicles had been left unlocked. The department reminds residents and visitors to secure your vehicle. This includes rolling up all windows, locking all doors, trunks, hatches, bed-mounted tool boxes, and canopies.

If possible, park your vehicle in a locked garage. If you must park outside try to park in a well lit area, or install a motion light in the area that your vehicle is parked.

If you witness a vehicle prowl in progress, do not confront the prowler. Call 911 and report it to the police and if it is safe to do so, get a good description of the prowler

Remember, don’t leave anything in your vehicle that you do not want stolen if it should get prowled.
