Bone River Bridge project underway

Yesterday, crews shifted US 101 drivers to the temporary, one-lane detour bridge over Bone River, which dumps into the Willapa Bay. Once traffic shifted to the temporary bridge, crews got set to demolish the existing, 77-year old timber bridge and build a new, permanent structure in its place.

In addition to being wider, safer and taking up less space in the river, the new bridge will be built to withstand coastal flooding and a 1,000 year seismic event.
