GHC Career Fair on Tuesday
Grays Harbor College hosts a Career Fair on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the HUB on the main campus in Aberdeen. More than 20 area businesses are expected to participate in the informational event.
Organized primarily to benefit GHC students, the event is open to the public and there is no fee. However, as Mat Carlisle of the College’s WorkFirst program explains, this will not be a hiring event but instead, an opportunity for students to connect with employers in the Harbor community.
“Students can network with professionals in their chosen career fields,” Carlisle explains, “and explore job opportunities here on the Harbor.” He is also planning similar events at the College’s Riverview Education Center in Raymond on November 8, and in Ilwaco on November 13.
“At the same time, businesses will be connecting with their future workforce,” Carlisle added.
Participants will include Cosmos Specialty Fiber, Weyerhaeuser, Express Employment Professionals, US Navy, Stafford Creek Corrections Center, Walsh Trucking, plus local accounting firms, credit unions, home and child care agencies, and several others.
Bonell Photography will be providing attendees free professional head shots for their resumes and social media profiles.
