Grays Harbor will see 4G LTE ahead of schedule

Verizon customers locally may soon a change in their service. Verizon Wireless announced that they plan to unveil 4G LTE to 417 communities, including Aberdeen, Hoquiam, Ocean Shores, and Westport, ahead of schedule.

The company announced at MobileCon 2012 that they are planning to launch the extended network on Oct. 18.
The company has been spent more than $6 billion a year on the network, which was launched in December 2010 and tested in Seattle.

The company now has the largest commercial LTE network not just in the U.S. but the entire world, according to Nicola Palmer, the company’s chief technology officer.

By the end of the year, the company plans to have LTE service in Port Angeles.

LTE coverage in Seattle, Spokane and Tacoma is being increased as part of the October expansion.
