Aberdeen Police K9 gets funding

November 15, 2012

The Aberdeen Police Department is getting some help with their K9 division. The Aberdeen City Council on Wednesday announced they have received a donation from the Tamaki Foundation for over $35,000 to purchase and train a new K9 officer.

The donation funds the purchase of the dog, training for the new K9 from Landheim Kennels from Dyer, Indiana, as well as the first year of maintenance for the K9 program.

The Tamaki Foundation has also committed to pay a yearly maintenance fee of $15,000per year through 2016. The total donation is over $80,000 over the next 4 years.

Officer Steve Timmons would once again be the officer working with the new K9.
