Ocean Shores Police See Increase in Vehicle Prowls

December 10, 2012

The Ocean Shores Police Department are investigating a series of vehicle prowls over the past several weeks.

Over the weekend police received reports of nineteen vehicle prowls that occurred primarily Thursday through Saturday.

Multiple areas were targeted.

All of the vehicles were unlocked.

Small items such as GPS units, loose change, cell phones and laptops were primarily taken.

The Ocean Shores Police Department reminds everyone to lock their vehicles and houses. These crimes are crimes of opportunity and by simply securing your cars and not leaving valuables visible inside you greatly reduce the possibility of becoming a victim.

OSPD asks that anyone who sees any suspicious activities or persons to call the police immediately and not wait to report it until the next day.
