Raymond Man Connected to Multiple Crimes Arrested
The Pacific County Communications Center received a call about 8:30am on Wednesday from a resident who said that a man was being detained by employees of the caller for trespassing and possible possession of what appeared to be a stolen vehicle. The description of the vehicle given by the caller matched the description of a vehicle recently stolen from a Raymond home.
Sheriff’s Deputies responded, along with the Raymond Police Department, and arrested the suspect. The 25 year old Raymond man actively resisted during the arrest. Suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, burglary tools and a dangerous weapon were discovered on his person.
While investigating, deputies learned that a home directly next door had been burglarized. The homeowner said that an ATV had been stolen from her closed garage. A set of keys were located on the suspect and the key to the stolen ATV was in his pocket, however the ATV was not on sight. The key to the stolen vehicle he was attempting to leave the scene in was also found in his pocket.
A search warrant was served and Deputies discovered other stolen property that matched the description of property taken just days earlier from the area. The property inside the vehicle included a Honda Trail motorcycle.
Deputies are continuing to investigate and are attempting to locate the stolen ATV and possible other missing property. The suspect was booking into the Pacific County Jail for possession of methamphetamine, resisting arrest, 2 counts of possession of a stolen motor vehicle, and possession of stolen property.
