Mary M. Knight School Goes Under Brief Lockdown

January 18, 2013

The Mary M. Knight School was under lockdown today following a police pursuit in the area.

Mason County Chief Deputy B. Dean Byrd tells KXRO that officers were in pursuit of a stolen car this morning when the suspect fled the vehicle. Additional officers were called in along with search dogs.

Representatives at the school say that the school district was called that the suspect was in the vicinity just before 11 am, and received the call that the pursuit had ended at 12:10 pm.

The stolen vehicle has been recovered. There were no injuries reported.
