Moclips Man Assaulted with Club
A 48 year old Moclips man was assaulted with a club on Monday, sending him to the hospital.
According to the Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Department, early Monday morning the man was at a closed shake and shingle Mill where a number of people had been living. The man was inside the office area of the mill with a woman.
The man told deputies that the woman was the girlfriend to another man staying at the mill. When the woman’s boyfriend came into the office, both men were involved in an altercation. At some point, the 47 year old boyfriend picked up a wooden club and repeatedly struck the victim multiple times before leaving with the woman.
The 48 year old was able to reach a phone and call for help. When deputies arrived they found the man with “significant lacerations to his head” as well as injuries to his torso and leg.
He was transported to Grays Harbor Community Hospital before being transferred to Providence St. Peter’s Hospital.
The suspect was arrested without incident and was booked in the Grays Harbor County Jail for Assault in the 2nd Degree.
