Pipe Blocks State Route 101 Following Accident

February 1, 2013

State Route 101 was blocked yesterday for over an hour after a semi tipped over.

The Washington State Patrol told KXRO that a 44 year old Naselle driver was in a 2004 Kenworth with a trailer full of pipe, 7 miles outside of Cosmopolis, when the accident happened.

The man was driving south on 101, and when he went around a corner, the steel pipe shifted and caused the trailer to tip over. This sent pipe across the road. The semi left the road and struck a tree following.

The road was blocked for over an hour following the accident.

The Naselle driver was injured in the accident, but was not transported to the hospital. WSP is investigating the accident before charging the man with any infractions.
