Hoquiam Peeping Toms Caught

February 7, 2013

The Hoquiam Police Department arrested a peeping tom after a woman heard noises in her attic.

Officers were called to an apartment building on Simpson Avenue when a woman reported hearing noises above her bedroom around 3 am. When she hit the ceiling with her broom, she could hear someone climbing down from the attic. As she opened the door of her apartment, she told police that she saw her neighbor running towards his own apartment.

After looking at the ceiling, the woman discovered holes above her bed.

Officers contacted the 25 year old neighbor, as well as his 26 year old roommate.

Both men denied any involvement.

The 25-year old male was arrested on a Hoquiam warrant and booked in the Hoquiam Jail, which was open on a warrant sweep.

Detectives continued to investigate and conducted a polygraph of the man and interviewed the roommate. Through their interviews, detectives say that both men allegedly punched holes in the ceiling of the apartment to spy on the neighbor.

The 25 year old was booked into the county jail for the felony charge of Voyeurism; charges are pending on the 26 year old roommate.
