Hoquiam Police Asking Residents to Check for Missing Yard Tools

February 12, 2013

Loud noises lead to 2 Hoquiam residents being booked into Grays Harbor County Jail. Now, Hoquiam Police are asking residents to check for missing items.

Hoquiam Officers responded to a home on Chenault Avenue after a resident called to report loud noises coming from an abandoned home next door.

Officers found two men inside with burglary tools and scrap metal.

The 22 and 43 year old Hoquiam residents were booked into the Grays Harbor County jail for residential burglary.

During the course of the investigation, detectives interviewed a roommate of one of the suspects. While at the home, they noticed two weed trimmers and a leaf blower sitting on the floor.

The roommate said that the items had “shown up” at the apartment overnight and did not know where they came from.

Detectives took the items as possible stolen property.

Residents are asked to make sure they are not missing any items as they could be from an as-of-yet unreported crime. The lawn equipment is secured at the police department evidence as found property at this time.
