Stevens Elementary Awarded STEM grant
February 13, 2013
Stevens Elementary was awarded a STEM grant at last night’s Aberdeen School Board meeting.
Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction STEM representative, Dennis Milliken was there to hand the award to Kathleen Werner, principal of Stevens Elementary and sixth grade Stevens Elementary school teacher Dana Zora.
The $19 thousand award goes to improving education in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Zora says they are focusing on expanding science and engineering and are planning to keep the program going throughout the students’ primary years at Stevens.
Stevens’ curriculum now integrates Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Zora says the students are engaged in the program and she has no discipline problem.
