February 22, 2013

A Hoquiam man lost his computer after an attempted robbery this week.

A 19-year old Hoquiam man said he had been sitting in a parking garage using wifi of the attached building to play a video game on his computer. The man said the suspect came in the garage and attempted to take his computer and after a short struggle, the computer was thrown on the ground and broken. The suspect attempted to grab the broken computer, and the victim again tried to stop him. The victim said the suspect allegedly pulled a knife and pointed it at the victim before fleeing on foot. The victim was able to give a description, and officers were able to locate a suspect known to police.

A 22-year old Hoquiam transient was located and identified by the victim. When the suspect was contacted by the officers he once again attempted to flee before giving up after a very short time and admitting to the crime.

The suspect was arrested and booked into the Grays Harbor County Jail for Robbery.
