Aberdeen School Board Urges State to Comply With Court’s Decision

March 6, 2013

The Aberdeen School Board passed a resolution urging the Legislature to comply with the court’s ruling in the McCleary Decision. The resolution called for a stable and sustainable funding source for basic education. Aberdeen Superintendant Dr. Thomas Opstad says he hopes that this reaches not only the lawmakers in Olympia but the public notices how important this is for education.

The McCleary Decision states that the state must increase educational funding by at least $1 billion for the 2013-15 biennium.
