Aberdeen Police investigate weekend burglary

Aberdeen Police are investigating a series of burglary reports within the city. On Friday, officers were called to a report of a residential burglary in the 600 Block of 3rd Ave.

Officers were told that when the resident he came home he saw a man running into the brush away from the rear of his apartment. The victim reported that he discovered his safe outside his apartment.

The suspect was described as a man wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, and light colored jeans.

The victim said that a large amount of money was stolen during the burglary.

The Aberdeen K-9 Unit was brought in track the suspect, but he was not located.

It appeared that the suspect used a tool to pry open the door to the apartment.

It is unknown if this case is linked to other burglary reports that the Aberdeen Police Department have received in this area and are investigating.
