Bomb threat at Safeway

Aberdeen Police Captain John Green says they responded to a bomb threat that was called in to the Aberdeen Safeway store at about 10:40 this morning.

Safeway has evacuated their facility and parking lot while SWAT and Washington State Patrol Bomb Squad, who brought four detection dogs as well as bomb technicians, check the area. Green says the nothing suspicious has been found during the sweeps of the building.

Green says the State Patrol is currently wrapping up their examination of the scene and Safeway is likely re open around 3:30 this afternoon.
