Operation Chill gives local children rewards for good deeds

July 9, 2013

Children in Aberdeen and Hoquiam could earn themselves a free Slurpee from 7-Eleven for doing the right thing.

7-Eleven has partnered with police departments across the country again this year for Operation Chill. The program rewards kids in the community for doing good deeds by giving coupons to officers to hand out in their communities.

Both the Aberdeen and Hoquiam Police Departments are participating in the program this year.

The program began 18 years ago and has been rewarding children ever since.

According to 7-Eleven, since 1995, more than 11 million Operation Chill coupons have been given to law enforcement agencies for the program.
