Greater Grays Harbor Energy extended

July 26, 2013

Due to the success of the program since it started in January, Greater Grays Harbor Energy, will continue through September.

The program uses specialized equipment to find out exactly where in your home leaks and cold spots waste energy and money, and helps you learn what energy upgrades are needed most.

In the last quarter, Greater Grays Harbor Energy completed 55 home audits, leading to $21,000 in rebates for home improvements. $131,000 in private funds has been spent locally among contractors and home improvement stores. As a result, homeowners have saved over 5,500 kilowatt hours per year, per home. This averages $413.00 annually per home.

Grant funding from the program pays up to $750 toward energy efficiency upgrades in this cycle. Additional rebates are available from the Grays Harbor PUD and Cascade Natural Gas.

Homeowners interested in being part of this program, and local contractors interested in becoming approved to do the energy upgrades, can contact Rick Jackson, Greater Grays Harbor Energy Specialist, at 532-7888.
