Motorcycle accident outside of Hoquiam

July 29, 2013

A motorcycle leaving Ocean Shores following a weekend filled with hundreds of bikes and riders ended with a wreck outside of Hoquiam.

A 41 year old Puyallup man was riding his 2001 Suzuki motorcycle toward Hoquiam when he was thrown from his bike in the S curves just outside of Grays Harbor City.

As the rider went around a corner, he did not make the corner completely. When his rear tire struck the gravel on the side of the road, he lost control before his bike came to rest in the opposite lane.

Residents and visitors to the area stopped to assist the rider and blocked traffic at the scene until emergency crews arrived.

The Puyallup man was taken to Grays Harbor Community Hospital following the accident.
The Washington State Patrol told KXRO that it did not appear that drugs or alcohol were involved.

The bike was impounded and taken from the scene.
