Safety inspections available for Pacific County vessels

August 15, 2013

The Pacific County Sheriff’s Office recently started a new marine patrol and boater safety program within the county. The Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office donated a boat to the department that they are in the process of updating to suit their needs. The boat is planned to be used for search and rescue missions, and has already been deployed multiple times for boaters in distress.

The Sheriff’s Office has 6 certified marine law enforcement and safety boat operators. With the officers, they are offering free safety inspections for other boats in the area.

If your vessel meets safety requirements, you will receive a Washington state boaters safety vessel sticker that shows that you are in compliance.

If you would like your boat inspected, you can call 360-875-9398 and leave a detailed message with your name and address or the location of the boat.
