Human remains found in Elma believed to be missing man
The Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Office and WDFW have found the remains of a man in Elma, believed to be that of Corey Kellis, an Elma man missing since 2011.
When Kellis was reported missing on December 29, 2011, it was believed that he had drown as he was reported to be despondent and had talked about committing suicide. A shrine with Kellis’ wallet, cell phone and keys was found on the bank of Vance Creek following his disappearance. Divers at the time searched the area with no sign of a body.
Earlier this week, a fisherman found the remains of a man wearing Wrangler jeans and black Romeos, consistent with Kellis. The remains were found just west of Vance Creek on the Chehalis River.
His upper body not found. It is not confirmed if this body belongs to Kellis. A femur was sent for DNA testing.
