New Years assaults in Aberdeen send one man to hospital

Aberdeen Police responded to 2 separate incidents with weapons on New Years.

Wednesday morning just after 2 am, Aberdeen and Hoquiam Officers were sent to a fight at the Best Night Inn. Officers learned that a man had been stabbed during the fight. A 27 year old man was treated for head and neck wounds before being released.

Later that morning, just before 6 am, APD were sent to an apartment complex on Arthur Street when a 22 year old man came to a home and pointed a gun at several people at a party. Officers arrived as people at the party were able to get the gun away from the man and detain him for police. He was arrested for an outstanding warrant, Felony Assault, and Illegal Possession of a firearm.

Both investigations are ongoing.
