Crab pot skull does NOT belong to Lindsey Baum

April 3, 2014

A skull found in a Westport crab pot and sent to the FBI crime lab in Quantico was run through the CODIS (Combined DNA Index System) and no matches were found.

The Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Office says that these results show that the skull does not belong to Lindsey Baum. Lindsey was last seen on June 26, 2009 in McCleary. July 8 marked the 15th birthday of Lindsey, still missing after over 4 years.

At this point, the DNA profile indicated that the skull is from a female; however it is unknown at this time how old that person was at the time of their death.

On February 21, crab fisherman found the partial skull inside a crap pot approximately 3 miles off shore.

The reports from FBI are expected within the next few weeks.
