Oakville assault suspects may have been looking for casino winnings

May 2, 2014

Following an assault in Oakville on Thursday, the Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Office is looking for 2 possible suspects.

Chehalis Tribal Police and the GHSO are looking for 2 Native American men in their 20’s from Oakville.

According to GHSO, 2 masked men kicked the door down of a home in the 200 block of East Alder Street in Oakville around 5 am, armed with machetes. Once inside, the men began to assault the residents.

The machetes were not used during the assault and the victims only sustained minor injuries.

During the fight, one of the suspects’s masks were pulled off, partially showing his face, and the residents were able to give deputies a possible identity.

The suspects fled the home without taking anything.

The GHSO tells KXRO that “A possible motive for the assault may have been due to recent casino winnings by the victims.”

The investigation is continuing.
