May 2, 2014

Aberdeen and Hoquiam Police are on scene this morning in the 600 block of W Wishkah St. following a shooting.

Aberdeen Police tell KXRO that around 3 am, a fight broke out involving 4 to 5 people at the Travel Lure Hotel. While the officers were heading to the locations they were told that shots had been fired.

A 37 year old Taholah man was in a room when officers arrived, and appeared to have a gun shot wound. He was transported to the Grays Harbor Community Hospital.

One round went through the door of one of the hotel rooms. No one injured inside.

Cosmopolis Police arrived on scene and found a 17 year old Aberdeen teen in the area with a concealed semi-automatic handgun. The teen had a warrant out of GH Juvenile Court and was arrested and taken to the Aberdeen Police Department. The handgun was seized by the police.

Officers were told that three other men, between 17 to 21 years old, were at the scene, involved in the fight, and in possession of handguns. They were described as wearing black jackets, black shorts, and black baseball hats.

Police were told that the three suspects fled right after the victim was shot in a 1996 to 1999 Honda Accord with dark tinted windows and alloy wheels.

The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Aberdeen Police Department at 533-3180 or the tip line at 538-4450.
