FIVE INJURED IN SR 109 HIT AND RUN

January 31, 2011

Five people were injured in a hit and run DUI accident Saturday evening at 7:00.  The State Patrol reports that the vehicle driven by 36 year old Jason Flemming of Aberdeen was southbound on SR 109 when it crossed the centerline two miles north of Ocean Shores and struck a northbound vehicle with five occupants, spun and struck a second vehicle.  The two occupants of the second vehicle were uninjured, but all five occupants of the first vehicle struck, including two one year old children were transported to Community Hospital.  After the accident, the State Patrol says Flemming fled the area on foot, but was apprehended at 11:00.  He now faces charges of Driving Under the Influence and Felony Hit and Run.
