COLLISION BLOCKS HERON STREET/SENDS 2 TO HOSPITAL

Aberdeen Officers were sent to the intersection of Heron and Alder reference a mini van colliding with a chip truck. Heron Street was blocked for about an hour during the investigation.

Aberdeen Police Captain John Green tells KXRO that a Willis Industries chip truck was waiting for a red light on Alder at Heron when a 2005 Chevrolet Uplander on Heron approached the light. The light turned green for the Willis truck and as it began to cross Heron street and was struck on the drivers side by the Uplander driven by Michael Ferdon, a 50 year old Aberdeen resident.

The driver of the chip truck, Don Entus Jr, complained of a sore arm and shoulder. A 10 year old male passenger inside the Chevrolet Uplander also complained of pain. Both subjects were treated and transported to Grays Harbor Community Hospital by the Aberdeen Fire Department.

Aberdeen Officers were assisted by the Washington State Patrol Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division.

Mr. Ferdon was cited for Failure to Stop for a Red Traffic Signal.
