Man shot in arm while cleaning guns

Aberdeen officers on Thursday were dispatched to the 2300 block of W. 2nd Street for a man who had been shot in the arm while cleaning guns.

Officers arrived to find the 55 year old Aberdeen man in the garage with a gunshot wound to his right forearm. The man’s 26 year old nephew was also in the garage when the accident happened. As the 26 year old was disassembling his pistol when he pulled the trigger, unaware that it was loaded.

The 55 year old was transported to Grays Harbor Community Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The incident is still under investigation.
