Sheriff’s Office looking for suspect in East Hoquiam assault

On Thursday just after 5pm, Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 3000 block of East Hoquiam Road. A resident reported that her neighbor had been assaulted and held hostage in her own home by an unknown Hispanic male.

Chief Criminal Deputy Steve Shumate said that the victim had injuries to her face told deputies that the suspect may be armed with a firearm. She told officers that the man entered her home just after 1pm and had sexually assaulted her.

With the assistance of Aberdeen PD’s K-9 officer, deputies searched the area, but did not find the suspect.
The victim, a 56 year old East Hoquiam Resident, was transported to Grays Harbor Community Hospital for her injuries.
