Shelton Bank Robbery Ends in Arrest
The Shelton Police Department reports that on Friday at about 5pm, the Key Bank in Shelton was robbed by a man who indicated that he had a bomb.
Lieutenant Les Watson says that after taking an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled the bank on foot. Shelton Police Officers and Mason County Sheriff’s Deputies located the suspect in his vehicle a short distance away where he was taken into custody without incident.
The cash taken from the bank was recovered during the arrest. There was no bomb or other types of weapons located.
The suspect was identified as a 67 year old Shelton man. He is currently in custody at the Mason County Jail.
